Redwood Steakhouse & Brewery

I had a very disappointing meal at this restaurant tonight. It’s unfortunate, because just a little over a year ago I wrote a five star review for them. First of all, the restaurant was not busy at all. It was a Tuesday night and I ordered the beer and onion soup, the Salmon Oscar, and a cocktail. The soup came right with the salad which wasn’t that big of a deal. I finished eating my salad, while letting the soup cool down a bit because it was served quite hot. However, before I could even get halfway through my soup, my entree arrived. I immediately asked the server to take it back and place it under a warmer because I don’t like to eat cold food. I wanted to enjoy my soup. He took it, but he brought it back to me within five minutes and darted away before I could stop him. I was still eating the soup! So, by the time I got my entree, it was stone cold. The mashed potatoes were so cold they were inedible. I ended up asking the server to bring me some hot Hollandaise sauce so I could put it on the salmon to warm it back up. Instead, he brought me a bowl of cold Hollandaise sauce. I had to catch his attention again, which wasn’t easy, and ask again for the sauce to be heated up. I’ve had the Salmon Oscar each time I’ve gone to this restaurant, and it’s always been delicious. Tonight, I’m sure if it had been served me at a reasonable pace, I would’ve enjoyed a nice hot meal. I don’t understand how a restaurant like this, which is rather upscale for this area, would bring everything out at once. My server clearly didn’t understand that the customer might want to actually have time to enjoy their food. I wasn’t in a rush, and the place wasn’t busy so it wasn’t as if they needed me to eat fast to accommodate a crowd of hungry people waiting for my table. This was a very big disappointment to me. Eating at a place like this is a splurge, and I looked forward to a relaxing, delicious meal. I certainly don’t feel that I got my money’s worth tonight, and I did complain to the manager that my food was cold, but she didn’t offer any discount. She only commented that my server should’ve offered to warm my meal back up. He never did offer to do that. Overall, I’m sure I’ll be back because it is one of my family’s favorite restaurants. However, I will certainly avoid this particular server, and I won’t order the soup again. It was the most delicious part of my meal, but eating it cost me the chance to enjoy the rest of the meal . Clearly the pacing for this entire dinner was terrible.

Texas Roadhouse

Reviewed By EricandVal

I've grown to have high expectations at a Texas Roadhouse, and usually love their steaks: great seasoning, beautifully cooked, and tender meat. So on this visit I ordered the filet medium rare. It came barely warm on one side, and even calling it rare would be a push. Took awhile to get someone to take it back, and then it was 10 minutes before they brought me another filet - this time well done. By this time my business associate was done with his meal, and my potatoes were cold. So, the server promised fresh potatoes and a steak properly cooked. 20 minutes later nothing. And, the manager that was supposed to stop by still hasn't shown up. We stood up (to get attention), and told our server to forget it. We were done. Manager finally showed up with a coupon worth less than the steak I ordered. We paid for the one meal and won't be returning to this location.

I got the chicken and bacon barbecue sub. Very delicious, meaty and full of flavor. Line moved quick and place looked clean.. Also had Texas chilli with cheese. That was pretty decent chilli also. Definitely better than Subway. Dine in or carryout.

Really satisfies a steak sandwich craving. Cooked hot and fresh to order. Steak is always juicy. Added some jalapeno potato chips.
