Lovely setting, pleasant staff but I wouldnât rave about the food. Itâs ok but not amazing. Maybe itâs just me but I would also expect the fish to be cleaned of all its entrails (and by that I mean poo tract!!). I know lots of places serve it with it in though so maybe it is just me!Anyway, lovely for the view but wouldnât return. Was also the most expensive meal we had in opatija

We've bin around a few restaurants here but this is definitely our favorite. Off the main road, you really have to look for it. Perfectly fresh fish. Ask for the fish, not for the menu. You never know what they are cooking! We had Scampi as a starter and Dentex as main course. The trick is the cooking: no fancy things just scampi boiled in a nice bouillon and the dentex grilled. As befits a good konoba, simple but very tasty. The restaurant is in the cellars of an old captains house, and an experience in itself. Have a look at the different spaces, and of course a chat with the chef. Definitely worth the money and the walk. Coming back here!

Plavi Podrum sits in a small harbour amongst other bars and restaurants on the Lungo do Mare and is an excellent place to eat and people watch. The first thing to note is that the owner is ever present - this is always a good sign.The menu is appealing to all - nothing is too much trouble, the waiters are knowledgable, helpful, humorous and proud of the food on offer.Someone in the kitchen cares about the customer experience because they are cooking for the customer and not for the chefs ego!Each course is perfectly presented and cooked with skill, love and respect for food An amuse is presented at the start and a present from the restaurant at the end of the meal (a mistletoe brandy) - itâs the little touches that enhance the experience.The bill was around 100 sterling for two with two glasses of champagne.This restaurant offers a set menu and a la carte.Iâd recommend this one to friends and family and anyone else who asked!Good food, great service, excellent setting and Iâd return again and again!

We dropped in La Piccola cucina by chance. We found a small bistro which serves mainly Italian dishes.The service is friendly and speedy, the dishes are well prepared, served and most importantly of good taste for the price/quality ratio! So good food at an excellent price!
