Large place with a wonderful atmosphere. Clean and bright with unique items and displays all around. The food was delicious and the menu diverse. Entrees were presented nicely and the service was exceptional. Full bar and some nice craft beers to choose from. I would highly recommend.

Pho House is a delicious authentic vietnamese restaurant. It appears to be a family owned and run business, and that added to the fun of the experience. It was a cold evening in Late February, and the pho was the perfect antidote.

Soapy Smith's Pioneer Restaurant

Bottom Line - we watched Bill the server reclaim 4 glasses of water from a bussed table, pour them into a pitcher and use that water to refill glasses to another family's table. We stood up, reported it to the owner, who seemed not surprised or enraged - he actually began to talk to us about his family memorabilia - we left. There is something very wrong going on at this business. Here's our whole experience, if that opening statement wasn't enough to convince you: While eating breakfast (at the wonderful Crepery) we witnessed an gentleman seemingly commandeering folks from a local tour bus on the street to his restaurant. Very vocal and invasive. We were taken aback when we entered Soapy Smiths' for lunch a few hours later and after being seated, the same gentleman approached our table to introduce himself as the owner, and proceeded to overly-share his family history... this was not 'quaint' or inviting', it was egotistical and intrusive to our tables conversation. There was an inappropriate exchange between Nick, owner and Bill, server just over our shoulder. We should have retreated to the door at that point. The server Bill, as stated in other reviews speaks derogatorily about his working conditions out loud to himself, he is rude and uninterested in your food order and even made a very loud, strange grunt of some sort when i chose my salad dressing - as if I just had ruined his day - the response was repeated when my lunch mate chose a different dressing. His odd behaviors led us to think that there maybe some 'other issues' going on with Bill. When the soda was served it was awful - clearly the mixture was done wrong and it was undrinkable. Bill continued his radical behaviors with other tables and his awkward outbursts over the next 10 minutes or so... yet still, we only talked about 'getting through the meal'. Observations were that the shelved mustard bottles appeared very old, the servers station seems unkept and a general dirty dingy feeling, only overshadowed by the personalities that create the more uncomfortable atmosphere. Our salads and meals still had not arrived when we watch Bill re-serve the partially consumed water from a bussed table - ENOUGH.I spent 7 days in Alaska, eating out each meal - this is NOT indicative of the area. This was dirty, uncomfortable and far below the minimum health standards that we are all assured of in a public eatery. DO NOT EAT HERE, you have no idea what might be being re-served to you. We had a great meal at Brewsters, local pub about 6 minute walk away.
