The Tamale Girl is located at the St Jacobâs Farmers Market. We had her lunch special. Food was delicious! We both had rice, beans, salsa, and two tamales each. Everything was really good! ... but she was scraping the ice from the wall of her freezer to get some ice for my drink.

Kind of like a pita pit but Mexican. Everything is made fresh. Looking for an excuse when I will be in the area to go back again. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. Staff were friendly.

Usually I'm all about the photos, but it was raining and I was hungry so I didnt think of it until now. No worries though, I WILL BE BACK!! :)Driving down King street looking for a healthy option for dinner, and spotted this new little gem. Clean and fresh, and the owner or manager (not sure which we interacted with) was splendid. We told him it was our first time there and he did not fail to make us feel welcome. I got a salad bowl, my husband got a large burrito. Portions do NOT disappoint here.Definitely plan to make this a regular stop.

Ontario isn't generally known for Mexican restaurants (even in Toronto, where most world cuisines are well-represented, there're very few decent places), so my expectations were low. I was wrong. The place serves pretty decent Mexican food, the service is quick and polite, and they have very reasonable prices. The location is your typical "a hole in the wall" (a small strip mall in the middle of nowhere), but the food merits the short detour.
