Kuzuri Restaurant and venue is situated inside the Lowveld Botanical Gardens in Nelspruit. We had lunch there while visiting the spectaculour gardens. My husband had the Beef burger with cumin and apricot pattie with chips (one of the best patties he had in a while). I had a toasted cheese and tomato with chips which was very good! I had a homemade iced coffee with cardamom and honey, which I can recommend! It was a hot summer day and we sat outside on the wooden deck under the shade with spray mist cooling us, surrounded by the forest trees. The service is very good. I can strongly recommend this restaurant.

If I could give this restaurant zero out of 5 I would have done so. I have never had such an awful dining experience in all my years.Admittedly the restaurant was very busy however we were shown to a table right away. Drinks ordered which actually arrived quite quickly in 5-10 minutes. We then ordered our food. Vegetarian option for me and chicken option for my son. The vegetarian option was very clearly marked on the order form. An hour later and we still had no food having spoken with the waitress a few times who did keep checking on what was happening in the kitchen. At last after over an hour my vegetarian dish arrived alone, still no sign of my sons. I started tucking in right away as by this point I was ready to eat the table. A mouthful later and I realised my food had a very strange texture. I then pulled apart the tortilla to discover my vegetarian dish was actually chicken!!!! This is absolutely inexcusable, and in my 33 years of but eating meat this has never happened in any restaurant. I spoke to the manager who was rightly horrified by the mistake. He spoke to the chef who seemingly got confused between refried beans and chicken as they “kind of looked the same”. At this point, we left the restaurant very hungry, angry and extremely disappointed. Thank goodness for the restaurant round the corner in the mall where we got a delicious take away pizza and realised we should have gone there in the first place!!
