Strolling around downtown Boise on a warm Summer day and decided on Matador because we wanted Mexican food. We are from Los Angeles, and are used to great Mexican food. This was more akin to an El Torito or chain restaurant, standard Americanized Mexican food. You know what you are getting which is nice. The service was good, and the dining room was nice.

Husband, local friends & I ate here prior to attending a play. Restaurant is very close to BSU. Fresh chips & salsa started us off. My husband & I had fish tacos. They were excellent as well as the rice & beans. Plenty of food. The other couple Chile rellano & enchiladas. Both equally fresh & tasty. Service was quick & staff were friendly.

Chapala Mexican Restaurant

Reviewed By GKBrash

Am in Boise for business. Went out to Chapala on Vista Avenue. Made the short drive over, walked in and was seated immediately. As I like to do, I wanted to sit at the bar and eat, but Chapala does not have a bar area, but they do a offer a full range of adult beverages. The menu is very large and has appetizers, salads, typical Mexican meals and specialties.I had the cheese and onion enchiladas. The plate had 3 cheese and onion enchiladas in corn tortillas with the enchilada sauce and covered with more cheese with sides of refried beans and rice. When my server first brought out the plate and was getting ready to out it on my table he suggested that he take it back and let the cheese "melt" a little bit more. Of course I agreed because who wants unmelted cheese in their cheese and onion enchiladas? They came back melted but it did make the corn tortillas a little crispy in spots. All in all the meal was plentiful, but the overall taste was just so so. I know that cheese and onion enchiladas are not super spicy, but they were bland. Filling but bland. The service was good, and I was impressed that my server took the plate back to the kitchen before I even had a bite, but even with that the plate could have used a bit more flavor. If I get back to the Boise area, I will explore other Mexican dining options.

Andrade Restaurante Mexicano

Reviewed By Isauro A

Overall is an average Mexican restaurant. The menu has variety and some especialties. The cheese enchiladas are good. The Chile relleno is not recommended definitely some of the worst I ever had. The service is good and the waitress was attentive but could not do much when asked to get me another glass that did not smell like cleaning chemicals. She blame it on the city water. I think was the ice who smelled. The flautas are huge made with flour which in totally wrong. They are a modified chimichanga and with chunks of meat rather than shredded beef. In a nutshell is okay to be there once since the prices are not bad. Not worth a second trip.
