Ramen Arashi

Came here twice during my visit and it seems to be the consensus among the locals that this place is really good considering its in a touristy town.Had the Black tan tan ramen which was really good. Perfect broth and noodles and the fried garlic was so good. Competes with the best in the Bay Area of CA.Had also the Arashi tan tan ramen that was more spicy and basic. Wasnt mind blowing but yet totally solid. Pork was soft and fatty and delicious. And food comes out really fast.

Sushi House Banff

There were four of us and the youngest (my 21 year old daughter) was getting hangry. I was the only one that doesn't eat sushi but this place was ten steps away and after looking at the menu in the window, I figured I find a few things to eat that wouldn't kill me. (I am an adventurous eater but its completely mental that raw fish is going to kill me). My daughter is more of a sushi connoisseur, if there is such a thing. She has had sushi in some of the best places in NYC. When the waitress told her to pick something coming past on the train, she blanched. Who knew how long it had been circling? The waitress then told us it could be made fresh. So we ALL made sure to order "fresh" only. All my food was of the cooked variety and all of it was excellent. My daughter gave it a "good okay". The others in our group also said it was very good. The place is small but for a quick sushi lunch or dinner, it's not a bad choice at all!

We were looking for sushi that was delicious and reasonably well priced and Sushi Bistro delivered! We were seated at the window with a great view of Banff. It wasn’t fancy, something my family was very happy with! We felt comfortable coming in straight from hiking!

Japanese Restaurant Miki

Reviewed By CraigHBruce

After 6 days of same day booking attempts to get into the Japanese at the other end of Banff Avenue, and despite reading mixed reviews....I made the trip to Miki. When I arrived, I stood at the entrance for around 5 mins whilst the single waiter struggled to serve 2 tables. They had on some all you can eat deal, but it seemed to be based exclusively upon a limited buffet selection of sushi.I opted for a la carte instead and was seated by the sushi bar (a portion of the restaurant was closed off by dividers when I visited). On sitting down I was asked if I wanted a drink..I ordered hot sake plus sparkling water..10mins later the waiter turned up with the drinks menu and asked me to point out what I wanted... he then turned up with sake only and I had to wait for the water (on second attempt to order). At this stage I realised that language was going to be an issue (I don't speak Japanese.. though even a request for Ebi Tempura resulted in a menu being produced). Language alone wasn't enough to make up for the glacial service. The food however, was fine. I eat Japanese regularly back in London, by which I mean around once a week, typically in high end areas of London. However I typically go for the same dishes as I ordered at Miki:- miso- tuna and salmon sashimi - Ebi Tempura - steak teriyaki All were well presented and tasty... if slow to arrive. Throughout requests for sake or water refills took a while, as did producing the card machine when requested... but the bill was significantly lower than I thought it could have been. Basic surroundings, decent food and drink, but service that leaves you feeling abandoned.
