La Dolce Vita

We called in on spec last night, and will definitely be returning. The restaurant is on 2 levels with most tables on the first floor, and it's humming. Authentic Italian decor, a very friendly and knowledgeable Italian barman, a wide choice of food including all the usual suspects, and everything is clearly cooked fresh consequently meals are not served that promptly so not a place to go if you are in a hurry. Recommended.

We booked a table for two on a Tuesday and chose two starters and two main courses. The food was delivered without delay and was hot and delicious. My fellow diner was concerned that the main course would be a big portion and asked if the chef could serve half the lasagne initially and if he was OK the rest later. The request raised no issues and was spot on when delivered. We enjoyed the conversations with the staff, confirming the friendly atmosphere. The atmoshere was very pleasant and we thought the cost reflected the good quality food.

Mamma Rosa Italian Ristorante

Mamma Rosa is a quaint restaurant set in a Victorian house. The ambience is warm, cosy and intimate. The restaurant is set on 2 floors, the first floor has more space allowing parties to be catered for. Toilets are also located on the first floor. Wheelch

Had a lovely meal here on our first visit last Saturday. Very impressed with the quality of food, decor and service. It’s a little pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Will definitely return.

Alfredo Restaurant

This place doesn’t have much curb appeal but the smell exuding from the place drew us in. It’s like stepping back in time to the 1980’s, the tired and drab furniture and wood-chip wallpaper was almost masked by cool green lighting. As the saying goes, you can’t judge a book by its cover. The food was superb, fresh and well cooked with relatively short wait times considering it was so busy. The accompanying wine menu - of which it also looked about 30 years old was something you’d find in a local cafe, however another book not to judge - the wines were great! I’m so torn writing this as we had a fab meal delivered by fab staff! That’s why you get 4 stars. If I had any feedback for the owners I’d say - keep doing what you’re doing in the kitchen but (and I’m not sure they want to be around for long to be honest) invest in the fabric of your dining experience, complacency can kill a business and it will only take a big or new Italian with new and clean lines to take a lions share of your business - that would be a shame!
