Needed an upscale meal and we decided to go to Peppercorns in Airdrie - than drive into Calgary. We had the salmon and the other main was veal parmigiana with side of pasta and bolognese meat sauce. The meals were excellent, great customer service and great ambience in summer as they have a patio overlooking the water.

Have been there two times to give it a fair shot and it is expensive for what you get. Had tried a home made soup and it was more like a thick paste with no flavor....second time had a salad which was good but pricey.

Iâll preface this by saying we are here last Saturday night, the food was great, the service was great, so much so we came back on Tuesday night with the kids. Tuesdayâs unmanaged staff were a total disaster, and totally ruined the hard work done on Saturday. The first young girl was very unfriendly, didnât make eye contact, hardly even spoke, didnât take drinks order. The restaurant at this point had about 3 other tables so it wasnât busy. There we sat for about 10 mins without seeing anyone. No drinks nothing. Eventually another young server ran past and asked if weâd got drinks yet.... clearly the absence of drinks on the table would indicate no. Very quickly took the order and disappeared for what seemed like an eternity.... where did she go, she just disappeared in the back. I got up and looked around and saw her chatting in the kitchen with all the other staff. Eventually two out of four drinks came out followed by the other two 7 or 8 mins later. We estimated we there for an hour before receiving food, but there was hardly any customers.Once we got food, it was a shadow of its former self on Saturday. Gross. Yet again, service was non existent, the server was stood laughing with some guy in the kitchen. Once every while sheâd literally run out of the kitchen and back again, she never once offered to refill drinks or take empties away. We had to repeatedly ask for refills, the desert that accompanied the meal, which was disgusting and no one Took more than a few bites. Again, terrible service and the server didnât even notice. We paid and didnât leave any tip, we just felt totally let down and the service didnât warrant any gratitude. Clearly, there was zero management and the staff were having a jolly. To the Boss, you need to kick butt and roll some heads. To the staff, your tardy work ethic totally let your restaurant reputation down, let your hard working colleagues from Saturday down, let your boss down and short changed yourselves.It will be a long time before return to Rickyâs in Airdrie. We had the experience of having the Golf Course cater our sons wedding. Everything was fantastic from the waiters who made sure there was enough food out on the tables, glasses were cleared, and interacting with our guests in a professional manner. The kitchen was fantastic at making sure everything ran smoothly through out the reception. Rich and Melissa were organized and adjusted to the Bride and Grooms requests. Enough cant be said about the food Fantastic. The view you also get from the banquet hall is awesome as the sun sets I love the fact that they have an outdoor patio which guests were permitted to use. One great feature was the shuttle bus which brought people back to Airdrie to the hotels. Apple Creek staff take a bow you guys are awesome
