The balance of flavours in the dishes are perfect. It can be a bit on the pricey side, but worth the money. There is an English barrier with the wait staff at times. If your dining in in warmer weather, request the back room. I saw people walk out and not finish their meal because it was too hot in the front part of the restaurant. Still, a very nice place to go for food and service.

On first entering the restaurant I thought the meal would be ho hum as the decor is very simple and the restaurant presented itself, to me anyway, as more of a takeaway place. I couldn't be further from the truth.The food is absolutely delicious and the service excellent. Our waitress was very helpful and the chef/owner came out on a few occasions to see if we were satisfied.I won't bother with looking for more upmarket Indian Restaurants in Newcastle and Maitland, I'll be coming back to Zaffron.

Had dinner here with friends. We were the only ones in the place.When entering the place looks quite run down with dirty concrete floor behind counter leading into kitchen. Decor old and dusty. It was a very hot night and we sat by the air conditioner. This just blew hot dusty air onto us.The service was warm and friendly. It was a good menu. The food was good, we all enjoyed our meal. Servings were generous and well priced.I would probably not return as I felt that it was too unclean.

We ordered takeaway pizzas. They were amazing! The toppings were not only truly delicious but extremely generous. My fussy 8 year old niece declared spontaneously that her chicken and barbecue sauce pizza was the best pizza she had ever eaten. That was not only a dramatic declaration but even more so because she had been persuaded to abandon her obsession of only ordering Margarita pizza.This pizza place beats the chains by miles!
