We expected more from a restaurant that seemed very popular. The food was very average, not very tasty. The bottled beer was ridiculously expensive. Genuine Indian beer said the waiter - brewed in England said the label. A strange and potentially unhygienic box of coloured confectionary was given to us to sample after the meal, "for our digestion". The single spoon for two went back into the box after we had sampled a spoonful. I has an upset stomach the next day but that may have had nothing to do with the food.

Shimla is a decent restaurant for Indian food, or rather food Indian catered to French tastes.We ordered a bunch of things and they were all nice - Naan, Dal Tadka, Kulfi, Gulab Jamun, Samosa. The samosas and kulfi were really good! Although, I don't get the custom of Indian restaurants in France serving Naan as a starter and not with the vegetables and dal. Being an Indian restaurant, there are plenty of vegetarian options.While the food was good, and had a good time talking to the waiter who was from Kolkata (finally someone to chat with in Hindi), it was rather expensive given that it was in Rosny-sous-Bois. I wouldn't mind paying the same price for the same food in Paris, but Rosny, definitely no.

Very good Indian restaurant, but the wait is quite long. They serve tasty naans, biriyanis.... Loved the interior deco.
