We made a booking for 530 pm on a Friday. We arrived just after and had a choice of tables. Decor was good however a little old. We were allocated a young gent as our waiter , whose name I have no idea about as he never introduced himself. For that matter he didn't say much the whole night. No menu suggestions for starters mains or desert. So we were left to our own devices We orders samosas and kebabs for starters. The samosa was good but the kebabs weren't what we expected. When I think kebabs I think cubed meat or a meat ball type of item. What we received was a flat dry disc shaped item. Maybe this is how it's done here For main course we ordered a chicken and prawn curry , lamb dhall curry and a chicken chevti curry. We asked for mild as we weren't sure how spicy it would be and the waiter didn't help either. We also ordered a roti and a cheese naan. The food was very bland not even a hint of spiceyness. I think there is a difference between mild and bland. The cheese naan was great. We had soji and ice cream for desert and it was ok. The manager did pop around a few times to ask if all was ok and we said it was as nothing was in edible just plain. What was surprising is that at adjacent tables the other waitress was giving guests mountains of information regarding the dishes available etc. We were quiet disappointed with the lack of service and interaction. Would I go again , maybe , but would try that spicier versions

The food is great. Never been disappointed. Only had take aways, as the restaurant is a small place and a little cold. Would order here more often if it was a little cheaper, but like I said, the food is great.

Had dinner at the Masala Indian Restaurant during a business trip to Johannesburg. The restaurant was full to capacity. Ordered a Dhal Makhani with Basmati rice. Well prepared and delicious as always.Although they were busy, the service was quick and efficient.A very friendly management team.
