Went with the family twice now and had each time the best gyros and suvlaki we ever had compared to anywhere else in central Europe, even though I'm a big fan of Greek food. The owners of this new restaurant are friendly and very welcoming. We felt like being in Greece again. As with most original Greek restaurants, this is a feast for meat eaters, with limited choices for vegetarians, obviously. PS: try the Greek yogurt with carrots. Tip for gents: the bathroom sink's tap opens in the opposite direction (clockwise).

Originally wanted to go to Johannsen's down the road, which, on a Friday night at 9pm in low season, had already send the cook home. Akropolis was the only place around that was still open (except for the doner place next door which did not look very inviting). Second time we tried Johannsen's they were so busy they had no table, so we went back to Akropolis. Both times Akropolis served great Greek food, preceeded by a complimentary glass of ouzo and ended with a complimentary plate of Greek yoghurt with honey. I like Johannsen's for the atmosphere but boy am I glad it couldn't accomodate us as otherwise we would have missed this rather authentic Greek restaurant. We truly enjoyed our visit, both times.

I had dinner in Ellas restaurant which was not crowded at 6 o'clock pm .We entered without any recommandation and we 're lucky .They gave us the menu list with Greek dishes and we decided to order gyros ,souvlaki and salad .Food was delicious ,I couldn't eat everything and I drank German beer .I had the feeling that I was in the Greece ,not in Travemunde ,on the Baltic coast ..go there and you won't be dissapointed .

This restaurant has some tables outside in the warmer months but also enough tables inside.Our food was tasty, but I found it weird that we received a plate of tzatziki with some tomatoes, cucumbers and cabbage salad as an appetizer, but the main dish was only meat (gyros) and rice/French fries. So I highly recommend not eating the entire "appetizer"The service is efficient but not always very friendly and polite.By the way - there are no handicap toilets
