Restaurant traditionnel french Cook local production & vin cru minervois la liviniere
We hadn't been to this restaurant for many years, until we went with friends and family last Saturday evening. Apparently, it's changed hands since we last ate there - and it was a brilliant meal. Having said that, initially, I couldn't see anything on the chalk-board menu that I particularly fancied, until someone spotted the guinea-fowl which was part of the most expensive formule menu. Anyway, they allowed us to "mix and match. My starter was a gesiers salad (huge, could easily have stopped eating after that), but the guinea fowl dish was just lovely - served with a mushroom and seedy mustard sauce, and a few veg, absolutely perfect. The guinea fowl was perfectly cooked. Couldn't manage a dessert, not even the offered cheese or creme brulee, iles flottante or pannacotta - but our friends had a dessert each (and my husband had the cheese) and they thought they were lovely. Good portions, and all our food was delicious. The bill came to about just over 70 euros per couple, so not a fortune for a great meal. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty save for a few locals, but all of a sudden, it was packed with happy diners! hope they do really well here - we will definitely be going back!Bonjour j'ai ouvert le restaurant depuis 2009 il y a eu des changements depuis nous avons une carte papier également 8 mois par an mais nous préférons travailler à l'ardoise l'hiver pour travailler des produits de saison et des poissons d'arrivage Merci d'avoir pris le temps d'écrire un commentaire à bientôt j'espère Mr Plieu Jonathan gérant depuis 2009

We stayed in the Chateau as a Valentine's Day treat. The hotel is very nice, but the meal was a big disappointment. The service started only at 21:00! No choice, set menu = take it or leave it. Only 3 courses and not well done. The soupe was served nearly cold. The main course a bit of Pintade was served on a risotto, that was so salty that it killed any other taste that there might have been. Dessert was a little apple tart, just as you get it in any bakery. The local wine was good but overprized.May I remind you the menu of this day. I think it was an honest mistake but the real menu was :Terrine de foie gras à la truffe d'ici,Noix de Saint Jacques sabayon au champagne et caviar,Caille fermière, royale de foie gras, raviolis de girolles,Tarte au chocolat chaud origine Mexique, sorbet au chocolat origine Saint Domingue,Café ou infusion et son macaron aux agrumes. We keep the photos of this menu at your disposal.Non offense takenYours fullyThe complet staff of the Château de Siran

We visited again last week, with a little caution as recent reviews have held back on praise. However, we need not have worried, having thoroughly enjoyed dining here in July 2014 we did so again. Only reservation was that I chose a rather too robust local red wine (my fault - should have sought sommelier assistance). Good "Logis" and "Saison" menus; and excellent adult -style children's menu. The informal outside dining is super for families to enjoy a warm summer evening meal. OK. Not a "destination" restaurant, but a strong recommendation for good feed if you are in the area.

Weâve been visiting the area the last month and enjoyed four fabulous evenings at this beautiful restaurant. The food is exquisite and served in the âhidden/secretâ (thus the name of the restaurant) courtyard, weather permitting. You may question some of the combination of flavors but wow, do they work! Thank you so much Herminie and Phillipe (and family) for amazing food, service and memories......must have dishes La Peps (desert) and the pork cooked two ways (main). Tres tres tres bon!
