I have heard this cuisine from my friend as he has prestige member card, so he usually comes after his work to relax. It's my first time here and every menus they served us were superb and impeccable. The taste was very delicious. Finanlly, waiters were very friendly and gave wonderful service

...as I did this week, from the U.S.. I've been making lunch at Le Normandie an essential event during visits to Bangkok since the early 2000s. The few times I've not been able to dine at Le Normandie were only because the restaurant was fully booked on the days of my Bangkok stays, and I'm glad that that was not the case earlier this week. There is a timeless quality to the aesthetic and gustatory experience of dining at Le Normandie - in keeping with its home, the Oriental, which really is one of the world's greatest hotels. One walks through the always-bustling yet somehow serene flower-filled lobby, past the water fountains, and turns left to descend four marble stairs into the original/"writers' wing" of the hotel, where Le Normandie is housed. A dedicated gilt elevator - there are two - takes one to the restaurant, on the 5th floor. Le Normandie overlooks the brown and busy Chao Praya River - which is somehow scenic and soothing despite its hyberurban functionality as a major transportation artery. The lovely, lovely staff of Le Normandie seated me at my solo table, right in front of a picture window overlooking the river - as they have done on most of my visits. The few times that they were not able to do so on previous visits were due to my having booked late/at the last minute, but there is no poor seat in the restaurant space - and on the one occasion I was seated on the street side of the restaurant (from which the view was still fine and interesting), the maître d' apologized (for which there was no need; the restaurant was fully booked, and I'd only called the day before) and moved me to a river-view table for dessert and coffee.Other reviewers have noted in great detail how lovely the restaurant is and how world-class excellent the cuisine is. It's almost tacky to do so, but I'll add that, at least at lunch, Le Normandie's prix-fixe menus are among the world's great dining bargains, eve when wine pairings are added. The food and service at Le Normandie are second to none, and it's truly one of my favorite experiences to from the elevator into the restaurant's beautiful, flower-filled, and intimate yet airy space. Opening the seasonal menu and anticipating the amazing cuisine to follow is a joy of which I never tire. My lunch this week included an impeccable foie gras with cassis and (Australian) wagyu short rib. I delight in seeing the composition of Le Normandie's seasonal menus change while knowing that the world-class Michelin-starred kitchen's output will thrill no matter what I choose.It's hard to imagine a more enjoyable fine-dining experience than atop the Oriental in the company of Le Normandie's friendly, attentive, highly trained, and lovely staff. I'm already looking forward to my return visit next year. Setting and staff were excellent. The combination of 'food stations' and à la carte is original and guarantees great quality. I agree that we're spoiled but our expectations of the dessert buffet were apparently too high. What a delightful restaurant with delicious food! My friend who ha sheen to France claims that the food at JP is even better than the French food in Paris. We could not get enough of the foie gras and ordered 3 plates of it. Everything was perfect from taste and flavor to plating and preparation. We also got to meet JP himself!
