Any restaurant with Hot Dog written on the window catches my attention. While driving downtown WF I spotted this restaurant and decided to check it out. Glad I did. The Carolina style hot dog was great. You may have to stand in line during the noon rush but when you get to the front of the line you place your order at the counter and by the time the cashier makes your change they are handing you your food. Very casual, but a great place for casual food. Oh yes, there are pool tables and additional seating in the back room.

I went here a few months ago for a salad and fruit cup. The cashier told me what was in the salad and fruit cup. There was blueberries in both. I told her that I would have to order something else as I'm allergic to blueberries. She told me no problem they would make both items for me without the blueberries. I was so surprised that they would make something special for me. She also informed me that they changed gloves before my items so there was no way that blueberries would get in my order.I will return to this place again.

I've been ordering pizza here since 2006. It is a little hidden in the shopping center with Food Lion but worth searching for. You can eat in, take out or even get your food delivered. The staff is always friendly and efficient. But the food is what brings me back. The pizza is delicious with plenty of toppings. There are alway specials but even the full price is very reaasonable for all they give you. I recently tried a pasta dish and that was outstanding as well. If you are looking for a great local pizza place in Wake Forest, this is the place to go!

4. Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

They did a good job cooking the burgers the way we like - I like mine well done and my husband likes medium. We went through the drive through and although the line was long, it moved along fairly quickly. I do not like string fries, so my opinion there is biased. However, their onion rings are excellent. Have not tried the hot dogs or frozen custard yet - another day!
