I used to absolutely love comin to my mams for takeaway from laus, tonight the food was horrific, meat was hard, sauce was runny & portion sizes stingy...sort it out laus 0 out of 10 tonight in washington id get free crackers for the spend amount, & double the portion size for less money!!

I'm a curry snob, brought up in the 2nd Curry capital of the UK - Glasgow. I'm very picky. Been using Roots of India for years and love it. Great little takeaway, hot, fresh food and really friendly and helpful service. Definitely recommend.Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this amazing review.

My previous review gave it 4* and Dan's Castle has been our local Chinese takeaway of choice for 27 years. However our last two visits, (under new management) disappointed. Our most recent meal was so amateurish. Chicken fried rice consisted of a bed of heavily soy sauced fried rice topped with a handful of thinly sliced cooked chicken. There was no attempt to amalgamate it into the rice. The chicken and prawns were similarly underwhelming and certainly not up to the standard of cookink of the previous owners.We're sorry to write this but until ownership changes again we won't be using Dan's Castle takeaway.

Called in on Friday (8/12/18) evening, party of 4, food fabulous, whale steak and chips, (actually haddock but it was huge) plus (3 x cod n chips, curry sauce, peas etc. Graeme and Paula exceptional hosts, young staff (2 lads) attentive without being over bearing, Bottle fizz and bottle sparkling mineral water (someone has to drive) pleasant evening had by all. Don't be afraid, there's an extensive menu if you don't like fish. Couldn't find hake on the wall art fish.Well worth the journey from Nottingham via Bishop Auckland.
