The Fat Fish

Reviewed By Neville-George

I really liked the ambience of the place with various separate alcoves yet integrated nonetheless. Our first visit was for a large function, so I hadn't noticed the attractive layout. The fish was of course very good, being a fish restaurant. Plenty of other attractive options too. Very friendly staff and everything went according to plan.Dear NevilleGeorgeRSASo thrilled you returned and even more so knowing you enjoyed your second visit! Quite agree - the smaller rooms definitely make for an intimate space in which to dine. Will pass on your compliments regarding the food and service to the chef and team.Do hope we get to see you again...hopefully a bit sooner than in a few years :)Kind regards,The Fat Fish

Furniture uncomfortable- & decor shabby. Table sticky. Extensive menu of classic Italian dishes, presented on "clipboard"! Food presentation simple. White plates, & food. No fresh basil or garnish. Reasonable portions. Tasty.Dessert selection for a Friday was disappointing. No Tiramisu, nor creme caramel- simple dishes. Just Ice Cream. Good espresso to finish meal.Service - indifferent.

Caspita Mediterranean Family Restaurant

Caspita is a mediteranean family restaurant and venue offering an overall great experience. It's all about food, family, friends and fun.

I had heard some very good reviews of Caspita, and was looking forward to going to try their food. The venue is really child (and dog) friendly, and has amazing facilities for the kids. But the service.... We asked the waiter what the low carb pizza base was made from. He didn't know. He took our orders after a long wait, and didn't remove the menus from the table. We waited about an hour for the food to arrive. It was served by a waiter who we watched wandering around the restaurant with our food, but didn't know which table it was for!! Our original waiter eventually told him who the food was destined for, but then they didn't have a clue as to who had ordered what!! Our plates were not cleared away when we were brought the menus for desert. We didn't see any management around, and no one came to check on us.When we left, we noticed a "braai" outside the back door of the kitchen, which was cooking up a storm. We left disappointed, and indifferent. We will try it again, and hope that it is better. Pizza's were definitely overpriced, and not value for money. Mine cost R170 and was tiny, tasteless, and possibly the worst I have had in my life, and an average pizza is R140. Very little topping, and a low carb base which was literally paper thin, tasteless and awful. We were told we couldn't order the star pizza with our own choice of topping., but that it had to be cheese only!Good afternoon I am so sorry that you were dissatisfied with our meals and service. I wont give you excuses but I would like yo ask you to please ask for me the next time you visit Caspita. You can ask for either Michelle or Dominic please. I have brought in a new low carb base from Cape Town and I would really like to get your opinion on this one. Your input is very valuable to us and we will do whatever it takes to remedy this.
