La Tête en lâAir is a small (and quiet) restaurant in the old part of Vannes that has two options: a five course and a seven course meal, both of which are selected by the chef and are available without or with wine pairing. The seven course meal is the same as the five course meal (appetizer, two fish courses, a meat course, and a dessert) plus a cheese course and a second dessert course. With a very nice amuse bouche, you actually get closer to 6 and 8 courses. The wine pairing is nominally 4 and 5 glasses (all selected by the sommelier) for the 5 and 7 courses respectively but can be modified. Each wine was magnificently paired with the very attractive, creative and delicious courses. An informative description of the food and wine is provided when served. The service was excellent. We will definitely return when we are next in Vannes. Reservations required. Note: in Brittany, it seems to be the rule that there is only one sitting so the table is yours for the night.

We found the address through TripAdvisor late in the afternoon which surprisingly had still some availability. Dinner was exquisite, we had the menu gourmand made of a refined conchiglioni with fresh mushrooms, followed by a fish (lot) perfectly cooked and a lemon mousse. All incredibly tasty. Service was good. Downside was the restaurant lighting (hospital like) and its room temperature, which should easily be resolved. Very fair pricing. The proprietress of the Inn we stayed recommended this restaurant on our first night in Vannes. From then on I trusted fully all her recommendations. Absolutely excellent. Very cozy and casual and the food was just outstanding. I see a poor review on service but ours could not have been more attentive. Highly recommend.

We read the menu of this restaurant, as it was less than 50 feet from our Airbnb apartment, and it looked promising. We were blown away by the quality of food and of service. This was a wonderful meal. I wish I could could give more than five stars! One of my top meals in France!
