Let's get the good stuff up front and center: the food's good here, it's plentiful, and it's inexpensive.Now for the bad stuff.This restaurant has ten booths and two tables. When we arrived, eleven of the booths and tables were occupied. A busy restaurant is a good sign. Four of us sat down at the remaining booth. We didn't fit. There was so little room between the table and the back of the booth that the edge of the table hit me in the stomach. OK, I'm not thin but this has never happened to me before. On top of that, the tabletop was only loosely connected to the central table leg, so the top rocked something fierce when you leaned on it.Some extreme rocking to push the back of the booth and open things up created breathing room. It took forever to get waited on and the waitress then disappeared. Our drink orders took a while because the "big teapot" wasn't working. We got one of three ordered glasses of water. Then we got a second. We never got the third. It took a long time for the food to come. Meanwhile three of the other booths were vacated. They were cleaned, although very slowly. We would have moved to one, but the waitress told us that it was even smaller so we stayed. I noticed that the laminate on a few of the tables was peeling. On one side of our table, the laminate had been taped in place. My wife cut her hand on the peeling laminate on our side of the table.This was Valentine's Day. I heard a waitress tell the adjacent table that this was the first time in five years that she'd worked on Valentine's Day and it was the worst day of her life. I assumed that meant the place was unusually busy. No, not true. Our waitress said it was like this every night.There's no reason to mix great food with poor ambiance. Get takeout from Bamboo Garden.

We ordered the soup and spring rolls.The soup tasted like freshly made and had a delicous broth.The spring rolls are different then I knew them, filled with vegetables and shrimps coming with a delicous peanut sauce.It does not look special from the outside, but the food definitely is special!

This establishment serves off-brand freezer food, poorly stored, old, and frost burnt, barely cooked, the sesame beef was slimy and rubbery on the outside and inside (we asked if they were able to prepare it crispy, they seemed confused and indicated it could only be made one way - first red flag, even most freezer food can be prepared more, or less crispy), the crab rangoons tasted like they were constructed from a powdered cheesecake mix with tap water and crab added, and they offered sauces with the food, that were so poor, I just... I can't even begin to imagine where they came from, for them to taste so chemical, and horrible. The filler chemicals in personal lubricant is the only thing I can think of that comes close, instead of sugars and starches, they are using some kind of low grade, cheap petroleum byproduct. The sauce (even warmed) broke into chunks, so I tipped it upside down - it came out like a jello mold. It was either not properly prepared in a way the chemical ingredients could tolerate, and had become toxic from overheating (the smells was bitter and rancid, like old plastic lotion bottles), or at the very least it was old and dehydrated from overheating. Since the meat all smelled similarly old, I'm guessing the sauces had been sitting all week long, like the rest of the food. Save your money and buy some egg rolls from the local supermarket.. they'll be the same thing anyway, or treat yourself to the mid-range or top shelf frozen fare, and you'll be eating gourmet compared to this. Normally I'd say we might just be spoiled from cooking authentic and recreated american-style chinese food at home, but we also order out enough to know what's normal and what isn't - this was unusually poor quality food.
