This is a good place to visit with a big group. We were surprised with the extensive buffets and the detail that was given on presentation. You can't go wrong here.

Chez Wang

This was our first time staying at the campsite by the water - Le Pirot - idyllic environment with delightful and welcoming staff! Our friends recommended having dinner at Chez Wang as they had had good meals there before. We reserved a table for 1930h.We arrived more or less on time and our drinks order taken: a bustling lady whom we took to be the boss served us. When we asked for some tap water to accompany the wine, we were forcefully told “no free water, you pay for bottled water”. She was a tad brusque but we decided not to buy the water.Starters arrived within minutes - just a few spring rolls and a hot chilli soup. These were fine.Thereafter the evening descended into a cross between farce and pantomime. All the dishes were wok- based and should have taken 25 minutes maximum to cook. After a 75 minute wait, one of our party politely got up and asked whether our food was on its way. The reply was that it would be with us in a few minutes. After another 25 minutes, I asked whether our order would arrive or not? The lady (owner?) rushed into the kitchen and screamed at the cooks. Another 30 minutes passed and nothing had appeared. No one had come to offer an explanation, an apology or even a courtesy libation. As the 2 hour waiting time came round, we decided to give up... the time was 2150h.We stood up and I explained to Madame in French that our food had not arrived within two hours and that our evening had been spoiled; we were therefore leaving the restaurant. I suggested that perhaps she or the kitchen had mislaid our order and that all she had needed to do was to keep us in the loop. At this juncture a plate of shrimp noodles appeared from the kitchen.... two hours in the cooking? I think not!We offered to pay for our drinks but felt that since we had not had a true meal we would withhold payment on the 12 euros worth of starters. There then ensued a torrent of screaming from the owner who threatened to phone the police! One of the waiters then pretended to phone the police by keeping his hand over the mouthpiece was not the most convincing act ever seen!Eventually, as the altercation was disturbing other clients ,I paid for the starters and the drinks and left.We had hot cross buns for a late supper! This was a real shame as the restaurant is beautifully placed and we have heard from other campers that the food is usually good. Not up to our expectations I am afraid to say!Might try Chez Wang again but we shall go in disguise!

La Maison Thai

Panya Chaiwari, head of "Thai House" you will discover its cuisine. Some preparations take time to give you the true flavor, be tolerant for the wait could be slower than in a conventional restaurant. The Thai cuisine is world famous. Whether spicy or rat

We ate there Saturday evening. We booked a table. The atmosphere is really Thai, all the decoration makes you visiting this country. We ordered two soups, those were excellent. Then a appetizer to share of Thai specialities, really common for 14€. Then, the sweet & sour chicken and the curry manam chicken, the first was really tasteless but the second was delicious. However, the price is not at all in line with Thai food. 14€ for appetizers, 18 for chicken in sauce,... Those main ingredients are not expensive. We had to wait 1 hour for our soup and one hour for the main plate, in total 3hours. 87,50 € in a Thai restaurant without alcohol or dessert But the service is good, the boss does care about you, Not the waitress who was not professional at all.We don't really recommend this restaurant which may have increased the price due to the high ranking in TripAdvisor (unjustified).
