We had a mixed meat plate of grilled chicken and beef. It came with french fries and vegetables. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. There was enough on the plate for me and my husband, and enough to take home for another meal. The service was very good. I especially like the decor that gave me that "big city" feel like New York of Chicago. I felt transcended. The restaurant offers live music many nights and you should check to see when they do and join in.Dear Shirley,Greetings from Liberia Social! This seems to be a family run restaurant which is exactly what we were looking for. This type of restaurant is referred to as a SODAS in Costa Rica. We were the only English speaking people in the restaurant. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Very good meats and fish. You can clearly tell they want to please us and they did. If we return to the area we would definitely return. Don't be fooled by the way it looks from the outside. It is a local roadside restaurant that should be near the top of your list for this area if you want genuine local cooking.

We happened upon this place in 1995 on our first trip to Costa Rica and have been back over a dozen times since. This is the quintessential Tico steakhouse, replete with all the fixings, and they prepare your meat the way you want it - which should be rare, by the way. Our teenager gobbled up her meal and then her mom's too. Everything perfect as usual from the cut to preparation to presentation. We just were a bit dismayed to see the route 21 bypass, which I'm sure has impacted business. Still there was no impact on quality. This is a true gem, a holdover from the days when there were more vaqueros than cars. Give it a try!
