Steak house with signature prime rib, fish or chicken. Very friendly & professional servers that make you feel like a guest. Originally built as a home, it was later converted into an Inn with bedrooms upstairs. Interesting history going back to 1936 with a secret gambling & and “unsavory behavior” in the bedrooms. It soon became a hideaway for Hollywood stars and their playmates. In 1965 it was opened by Lawry's co-founder Walter Van de Kamp.

Had a lovely lunch with a local, who raved about this restaurant. On this, my first trip, I ordered the King crab cake "small plate" and was pleasantly surprised by not only the huge portion, but the scrumptious recipe complete with fresh crab and shrimp meat, a lovely orange beurre blanc sauce and a generous side salad. My friend ordered her "regular," the walnut cranberry chicken salad which was equally generous in portion and beautifully presented. She practically licked her platter clean. Great service, keeping both my water glass and iced tea constantly full, and never rushing my friend and I as we relaxed over a long lunch conversation.
