Small plates states that it derives from "small plates" traditions such as Spanish tapas and Greek meze which are located on the Mediterranean sea. The restaurant is located in a pleasant octagonal building with glass surrounding most sides. In the centre is a nice large table capable of seating perhaps 12 persons. We started with two superb dips, a carrot tzatziki with a lovely spice (probably tumeric) and a beetroot dip which was delicious. We also had some nice vine leaves. For the mains, we had chicken with pickled salad, which was a little disappointing, and a whole snapper which had dukka spice. The dukka overpowered the fish, but we found the combination creative, even if it didn't quite work. For drinks, we variously had red sangria, white sangria and a mocktail, all of which were satisfactory. We shared one dessert, a nice molten lava chocolate cake.The service was friendly, though at times a bit slow and our drinks were not served together. One of the wait staff was quite new.The evening was also quite inexpensive. The bill was just over $50 each including drinks.We don't live too far from Small Plates. I expect that we will revisit Small Plates several times in the near future.

Our group of 12 were eager to try Greek food for our quarterly luncheon and we were not disappointed. In an idealistic setting near bushland on a cold wet Sunday, we were impressed with the spacious and warm presentation. The staff were very friendly and informative. The menu was extensive with many dishes and platters plus a very large fish/meat banquet. We chose a mixed entre of dips and warm bread, fish and meatballs- very tasty. Our main courses included seafood platter, prawns Nagasaki & barbecued, crispy calamari, marinated Octopus, meat platter, and gyros. Toss in an ancient grain salad with a red wine and we celebrated a feast of food. Coffee and cake and we were fully satisfied. Service was first class, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the bill was very reasonable. Definitely recommend this Greek place.

The food at this family run business was amazing- amongst the best Greek food Iâve eaten. The host did a great job of recommending and explaining the menu and we were very happy with out generous dishes when they arrived. Accompanied with a reasonably priced Rose.
