Wanted some local food. My guide suggested this restaurant tor lunch. Ordered a nice sandwich and a beer. It was a great sandwich, beyond my expectations. While eating, I relaxed with the soothing music played by a local guitar player. The staff was pleasant and the service was good. If you're in Cuba, stop in this really cool place and have a great meal. If you cannot read the menu they will help you with making a tasty choice.

We loved this restaurant - the food was good, the service also good, and the prices were incredible! The place was always packed so plan on getting there early or spending some time waiting to get a table. We used the pool one day at the Union Hotel (across the street) and came here for both lunch and dinner - the hotel was quite expensive. One note - if you want a mixed drink you can order a shot for less that 1 USD and mix it yourself. If you are a US traveler - the government run restaurants are a great way to stretch your dollar so you can spend any leftover money you have on the last day on art! (or rum or cigars..)

La Gardenia was one of the few restaurants that was open when we were there. The food was good but nothing special. The waiters were really nice though and they have a few tables outside.
