I ordered pork chops and asked the waiter to have them cooked medium rare. They came out well done. Because of time I ate them. When we paid the owner asked how our dinner was and I compained about the pork chops. He said he went to cooking school & that was how they were supposed to be cooked. I said that in other diners I ask for medium rare & they come out that way. He said they are cooking them wrong and said next time don't order them. I said maybe I would order them at a different diner. He said "good Idea". Nice guy. Good bye Lindenhurst Diner. There used to be an old husbands tale that pork had to be cooked till well done as it had some sort of worm or something. This is no longer true (if it ever was) and you can now cook pork until it is medium or medium rare. I love me some lamb gyro! This place is very reasonably priced, and their meat is always tasty. Their tzatziki sauce can be runny at times, but the seasoning is always on point. Their fries, when delivered, kinda suck. They package in a styrofoam container which just holds the moisture that's released from freshly fried fries. I'd suggest packaging in brown paper bags, it will soak up the grease and water vapor that's released from the potato. Till then, pop your container in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes after delivered, or 45 minutes after refrigerated. All-in-all a great place to order from when craving some greek.
