Chambao El Vizco

Fantastic find - very rustic and very friendly. We stopped by for a drink and to check out the menu for dinner later and we were automatically saved a small plate of delicious grilled fish.Staff were extremely friendly and helpful despite our lack of Spanish and their little English.Returned that evening for a fab meal under the trees - atmosphere was buzzing with locals and the lights in the trees made it feel cosy.Starters of meats and cheeses were excellent. Dishes included grilled pork, grilled steak and cod in aioli. Our daughter's burger was huge and delicious.Really recommend this rural local restaurant if you're in the neighbourhood.

Found on the old road out of Durcal, heading towards Granada, this really does produce some excellent food.We booked for Sunday lunch, just as well as all the outside tables were full, and continued to be so throughout the afternoon. We tried the tempura langoustine with tempura vegetables, perfect batter, this is a chef who knows what he is doing! Also the grilled monk fish on skewers came with a silky garlic butter sauce, and a Moroccan influenced salad - all great, and generous portions, as was the tapas we had with our stater drinks.Try the baked cheese cake, to die for!And if you are on a budget, or very hungry, go for one of their burgers, it would easily feed a family. If you are in the area, go - bare in mind that it is closed Monday and Tuesday.

Nice comfortable restaurant below a rustic Spanish hotel. Food order fried to be taken before drinks were ordered, no wine recommendations just a list with no descriptions. Bread given but no butter, just some dry olives and what I presume was homemade hummus. No starters on the menu just sharing ones and then there is only 3 of them. Main course was very limited also, 3 of us had steak and the 4th lamb. The steak was very tough and was served with shredded fried potatoes, lambs tongue lettuce, rubbery mushrooms and very aldente carrots. The lamb looked good but had to be sent back as it wasn’t cooked in the middle, when it came back it looked like it had been attacked by a chainsaw. Didn’t eat it but still got charged for it. Deserts were homemade and very nice. €170 for 4 people was a tad dear compared to what you can get if you look around. Top marks for the restaurant though, nice ambience just very expensive and not of the quality that it thinks it is.
