This hotel has great views and is very comfy with great showers and very friendly staff but it needs more management. I have never before been offered a teaspoon to eat soup because a hotel can't find a soup spoon or told a hotel "can't find" the porridge in the morning. All said with good grace and good humour, but a lack of senior management lets this otherwise lovely hotel down.

When travelling north, we always go out of our way to stop here for a meal, not least because they are very dog-friendly. And of course the food is always good, with enough choice that if you can't find something you fancy on the menu, there is something wrong with you!

A great little place built inside a former bank building, great selection of drinks great staff, very friendly and knowledgable. A great little touch is the drinks cellar which is downstairs in one of the old vaults. A love little bar.
