Ernie's Cafe' is a quaint cafe'. Not tons of table, but the atmosphere is welcoming. The service was prompt and efficient. The food was amazing. Great breakfast comfort food and the portions are hearty.

It seems kind of silly to review a chain restaurant where you're supposed to be able to have the same experience in every location. But I haven't been to this WH in quite a while so we stopped in for dinner last night. In years past I used to go for breakfast about once a week. It was nice and clean and fresh when it first open and now it has some signs of wear and tear.There were only a few people there so we were waited on right away. We got both breakfast and dinner food and everything was fine. The hash browns should have been cooked a little longer as they were pale and limp in the middle (only brown on the top). The house salad was pretty good with iceberg lettuce, bits of carrots and cabbage, diced tomatoes, and ranch dressing (in a packet). The outside of the syrup bottle was sticky (but isn't it always?).One advantage of this store is that it's always been nonsmoking. The WH on Vandiver is older and used to allow smoking, and you can tell. I think the staff is friendlier here as well.If you're wondering why anyone would go to a WH for dinner when there are over 100 restaurants and fast-food places in Columbia, just remember that you can get inexpensive comfort food here made to order any way you like. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack - it doesn't matter as it's all here all the time.
