Vianen (Dutch pronunciation: [viˈjaːnə(n)]) is a municipality and a city in the central Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. It is the only municipality in Utrecht located south of the Lek River. Before 2002 it was part of the province of South Holland. Vianen is bordered by two major motorways leading to Utrecht: the A2 (Amsterdam-Maastricht) on its west, and the A27 (Breda-Almere) just east of the town. Both roads can be notoriously congested near Vianen during peak commute hours.

Convenient, friendly place to stop for a quick meal. We only had coffee which was good and price was normal.

We found this place by accident, when we were traveling from Amsterdam. And I think it's the best place for breakfast in the Netherlands. With no exaggeration. It's directly next to the canal, in the center of village, but kind of older village, so it's very nice to look at. The owner of the place keeps beautiful wooden tables with flower on them and white tablecloths. In the morning the village itself smelled like summer, with a gentle wind and beautiful sun. Sorry for being too descriptive but I really loved the whole experience there. We had coffee and home made desserts and breads. The lady who owns the place is also the one who was serving us, so her attitude was just the best that we could wish for. She also just had a loaf of bread that she just took out of the oven, so we immediately had to try. Fresh warm bread, delicious coffee and amazing atmosphere. Unforgettable place. We'll definitely come back again.
