Called into Blankenberg having been on a cruise, Not expecting much but what a lovely seaside town this is with a very long promenade. We walked along the prom and there is an excellent selection of bars and restaurant all along. We happened on this small restaurant/Cafe as the wife wanted a coffee. Great seating on the prom clean,with a wind guard around the tables. Then the menu was handed to me. Well being a real ale buff and beer fool, I thought I had gone to heaven. The list of bottle beers in a menu format was brilliant and I selected a couple of bottles. When they came you had the name of the beer on the glass it was cold and it was lovely tasting.The lady who owns the place actually came out to me to confirm the beer request as the server did not understand my northern accent, she also recommended beers to my palate thinking I was not inclined for hoppy flavoured beers. That was excellent service on her behalf and much appreciated by me. Recommend a visit.

4 times been to this town just to get the train to Bruges from the cruise ship we were on. This time we had an hour before the train came so wandered up the road opposite the train station and found MILES of beach, Casino, Hotels and Apartments, couldn't believe what we had found. Loads of shops, bars etc Need a day or overnight stop to explore it properly but a bit of sun and it would be great. Also train station and prices are excellent
