The environment and vibe of this place is one of my favorite in Athens. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are inviting and relaxing and the staff is efficient and pleasant. You order in a line if there is one and they bring your food which all moves quickly and well. The food is all around good and pretty simpleâsoups, sandwiches and good breakfast and coffee offers.

Todayâs lunch at Mama Jewelâs in Athens. I had the Ooey Gooey (fried boneless chicken breast on a homemade biscuit topped with jalapeño-peach jelly and melted Brie) and a side of cheese grits. David had a delicious Chicken and Waffles with maple syrple. Mine was truly a âlife-altering experience â We also had a dessert that was like an Andes Cherry Candy on steroids. Dark chocolate ganache with cherry âjamâ on a graham crust topped with whipped cream.

Brunch here is sort of like breakfast at grandma's house with all of your hipster cousins. You serve yourself specialized coffee, with your little hipster sandwich. It's delicious, and it's in an old house, which is sort of a cool atmosphere. But still kind of a strange dichotomy, nonetheless. Only went here the one time and haven't been back.
