Family, group and dog friendly pub in the heart of Southill. We have a large outdoor space, sports bar with pool table and darts board and family room. We offer a large range of drinks and food menu. Wheelchair accessible throughout.
Went with a party of 6, really clean and a nice place. The mixed grill that I ordered was really nice and so was the hunters chicken. The bar staff were really nice and overall a enjoyable meal and nice evening. We are so glad you tried our menu here at The John Gregory, and you found your evening enjoyable

The Royal Standard is a traditional local pub with wood ceiling beams, a log fire, a great selection of real ales, Pieminister pies and Traditional Sunday Roastsâ¦.we look forward to seeing you!
We called in while on holiday in Weymouth, after reading reviews on Tripadvisor we visited The Royal Standard on a Tuesday evening. On entering it was very quiet only a couple of drinkers. I ordered a pint of ale and a coke and asked "Are you doing food tonight " the answer was " Only Friday, Saturday and Sunday ". With 3 ales on tap,( all were 4 % ) I would not say this was a good selection as stated by other reviewers who all seem to live nearby. It was a wasted trip for us as we wanted to eat and had to make alternative plans.Thank you very much for your review. Apologies for you having to arrange alternative eating arrangements , but currently we are in the middle of transitional period, food wise and the limited hours are what can be done at the moment.Regarding the ales sorry there wasnât one of your preferred choices but we serve a very good pint and with the luxury of being a free house we change our ales regularly. Hopefully youâll catch us in another trip when there might be something more to your liking, as we have been mentioned in the Dorset magazine for exceptional ales. Look forward to hopefully seeing you again soon.
