We are here twice in three days. The first time was amazing: fast service, delicious 1/4 chicken and churrasco, yummy mixed drinks. The second time was a bit of a disaster: sat for 1/2 hour in acknowledged at one of several dirty tables, then another 1/2 hour waiting for drinks, finally to be served food that didnât equal the previous visitâs quality (same items!). A few constants: the very affable host, the hard working grill master, the excellent salsas, and an above average abundance of flies.

My girlfriend and I visited Destanos after reading some good reviews online, but we were really disappointed.Firstly my girlfriends entree of the soup was quite nice and this was probably the highlight of the meals.She ordered the seafood with rice for mains which came 20 minutes before my Lomo Saltado came. She had finished her meal before mine came out. Her scallops were incredibly fishy, almost overwhelming, but perhaps this is meant to be this way.My beef came out and it was like eating a piece of leather, arguably the worst beef Iâve had since we started traveling Peru.The portion size for me was also not really big enough.While eating our meal, we were sat on a table right next to what appeared to be someoneâs hidden house where two kids and another man were coming in and out of. It was off putting having one of the kids watch me eat my meal.The music here is also too intense for a lunch time, it needs to be turned down too.Overall there are much better places to eat in Paracas so I wouldnât waste your time by coming here.

I can't recommend Sumac enough! Their menu caters for all, from freshly caught seafood cooked Infront of you on a coal BBQ to soups and stir-fry suitable for all budgets (we are backpacking, so we hunted to find something affordable yet tasty)Awesome strong cocktails too.
