Everything at Fat Buddies is decent enough, but nothing to write home about... I had a chopped pork sandwich that I enjoyed, but it can't hold a candle to some of the better barbecue sandwiches I have had -- most notably Franklin Barbecue and the County Line in Austin, Texas; The Shed in Gautier, Mississippi and the nearby Haywood Smokehouse in Waynesville, Dillsboro and now Franklin, North Carolina too.

Willy's is a step above average bbq. The prices are high for the portions that you receive. Their sides are really good BBQ beans are really good) and their sauces are decent. Very friendly service, but if you have the time, it is SO worth it to drive over the mountain to the Haywood Smokehouse.

Invited friends there for them to try it out on Saturday evening around 5:30 pm and was very disappointed, we usually eat here 2-3 times a month. My wife and her friend ordered the Brunswick stew and the potatoes were still uncooked and raw in the middle, my brisket plate had 3 very small slices and after trimming all the over cooked and burnt sections off and all the excess fat I only got 6 bites out of the three slices. A very disappointing meal compared to what we normally get there. Service was outstanding but the food left a lot to desire.I am very sorry you had this experience - I hope that you let your server or the manager know about your disappointment. Everyone on our staff is authorized to "make it right" to the customer's satisfaction, no questions asked. It's a part of our server training to offer a replacement, upgrades, and no charges for problems with food, and I'm sure they'd have taken good care of you, given the chance to do so. That said, it's sad to hear you didn't get enough brisket, that it was low quality, and that the potatoes were still uncooked in the Brunswick stew.
