Barbecue and brisket is a very competitive market in San Antonio. Thrown in with the likes of Bill Miller and Rudy's you have to sell a quality product or have something else going for you. The food at Grady's is good but what they have going for them is one killer view of Converse, Universal City and Randolph Air Force Base. This view makes the dining experience pleasurable. So as the temps begin to moderate, Grady's becomes a desirable option, especially for those attending a Judson High School event.

We were on a house hunting trip and we stumbled on Rudy's. The signs said something like the world's worst BBQ, but the reviews said otherwise. I have to agree with the reviews and laugh while appreciating a business that can make fun of themselves. I hate creamed corn and so does my wife, but we sampled some anyway. We now no longer hate all creamed corn. The meats were spot on! The BBQ sauce wasn't for me. We'll be regular customers!

Another one of the non-tourist, you-have-to-know-where-you-are-going, BBQ gems. Those staying at the river walk won't be able to enjoy, unless they are willing to drive. This strip-mall based BBQ restaurant offers an average amount of indoor seating in an A/C environment. You Order and pay at the counter, and they call your name when the food comes out in 5 minutes. This BBQ place offers a variety of sauces, with great diversity in flavour. The sausage has a traditional and jalapeno version, and the brisket is well flavoured. For sides, the baked potato casserole steals the show.
