It is odd to see this place described as French / German! I felt as if I were sitting in a good English pub. The excellent beer, brewed on the premises, flat and hoppy, is certainly English style. Living in France, I found it refreshing to get away from gassy continental lagers fora while, and drink what would be a decent real ale in the UK.The food? Fish and chips, burgers, pizzas, and a few steaks on the menu, all reasonably priced. We were headed to a top rated TA restaurant in Avignon but could not find a place to park anywhere remotely near the place so we were driving around trying to find the route back to our hotel. Knowing that our options would be very limited once we left Avignon, we happened on a place that looked like "anywhere USA." A mall! a mega theatre plex! and fast food! So here we are. We spoke more French than they did English. I'm sure not many Americans pop in here but it was delicious and great fun! The service was super, the food was tasty and we had a great time with everyone sitting around us. Spouse had a cheese burger in a crêpe and I had a veal with mushrooms in a crêpe. I tried Pastis for the 1st time. It is like sambucca but you dilute it with cold water. I would definitely stop at one of these again for a quick tasty meal.

The last time we visited Le Pontet this was called Blue Note so it has changed hands since then. It was lovely before but I think Hexagone is better.We went for lunch the day we arrived in Le Pontet and had the special, grille avec frites. It was cooked to perfection and the chips were fantastic. The manager (we think it was the manager anyway) came over to speak to us in English which was a lovely gesture. He was so friendly as were the rest of the staff there.We went back a couple of days later and they recognised us and remembered our order which I thought was excellant. We loved this place so much we went once more during our trip and again they knew who we were and what we wanted.At one point we walked past the restaurant and they waved at us (even though we weren't going to eat there).I would recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back.
