We'd planned to eat Thai food for dinner in Paihia but ended up getting stranded in Kaitaia. Kai Thai provided the taste we had been hoping for in a casual setting.

This restaurant has been recently renovated and its decor is well in keeping with its theme. Most appealing. Spacious and can seat large groups. The owner very friendly, great P.R. and very helpful.. The meal was absolutely amazing. Beautifully cooked . Four dishes among five of us for lunch and more than enough. Thoroughly recommend and will return.

This restaurant is part of the same chain as the Kai Thai takeaway on the main street, but is just a stone's throw away around the corner on Redan Road. Delicious food, friendly service and outside tables. Really enjoyed the food here -we shared a seafood special and a massaman curry and both were excellent and the portions very generous. If you are looking for a sit-down restaurant with excellent, authentic Thai food, this is your place
