The Nice Winery

Reviewed By LoneStarBeachLazorTx - Katy, United States

After experiencing a wine tasting event at Falcon Point CC last night where Nice Wines were featured and introduced by owner/partner, Ryan, we felt compelled to visit their surprising tasting “room”, tucked away on Beltway 8, just NW of Hammerly. Their rep/hostess, Warner, was just as engaging as Ryan! Their wines, produced mainly from Argentina or Napa Valley, CA grapes are almost all amazing. Needless to say we were tremendously impressed by not just all the staff we have met, but even more importantly, by their amazing wines. We joined their wine club, plan to attend their “Rose’ All Day” event tomorrow, and will consider a European Wine Areas River Cruise hosted by them soon! Enough said. They deserved our 5 star rating!

Free State Cellars

Reviewed By GlobeTrotting816794

Recently visited Free State Cellars in Orange, Tx. The winery sits on the Old Piney Woods Winery grounds. While we were there we first sampled a glass of strawberry lemonade sangria as we walked through the vineyard for a few pictures. It was quite refreshing. Following our stroll through the vineyard we headed to the brand new tasting room and sampled all of the Texas wines offered at the time, along with provided food pairings. Our server Antonio described the different wines, from dry to sweet and suggested food pairings. The winery is just now opening and has many future plans including renovations of the old house for wedding and other private functions. If you are near Orange and looking to do something a little different one evening, stop by Free State Cellars, take in the scenery and sip on a glass of Texas wine

Stumbled upon this hidden gem after shopping in downtown Rockport. Were greeted by the owner and given exceptional service. The wines we tasted were good as was the craft beer. Will definitely return.

Texas SouthWind Vineyard and Winery

Texas SouthWind Vineyard and Winery is nestled between two historic towns, Refugio and Goliad Texas, on Alternate 77/ Hwy. 183. The winery and vineyard is situated on 145 acres of beautiful ranch land that is only reminiscent of South Texas. The vineyard and winery is family owned and operated, and it is the goal of the family to produce exquisite white, red, fruit, and dessert wines. All our wines are aged in stainless, and our red wines are aged in French oak. The sight, smell and taste is by far the most important to us in creating a beautiful wine. I have been to Haak so many times. Each time I had a wonderful experience. I bought 6 tickets for my friend and I and we went yesterday. Upon arrival to check in for the tour. The young girl at the register was so rude to us and other guests checking in. She was so annoyed, irritated or she didn't want to be there. She even told another employee we were getting on her nerves. I then ask Robin to take which we are so thankful. Robin was so sweet and professional. She kept checking on us and other guests to see if we needed anything. Robin told us there was a band setting up. We decided to purchase tickets for the band! We had a blast! Overall the experience was amazing! Our tour guide was also amazing. I will call today to speak to management about my experience.

Today after spending most of the day at Old Town Spring, we decided to have some glasses of wine at the vineyard. The 6 of us sat at a table out on the gravel patio. They could have some more heaters out there as well. We had 3 bottles between us and by 5pm most of it was gone. The Moscato was excellent. There were a lot of lively groups there. Well worth the stop!
