Perhaps best known these days as the setting for the book and movie “Under the Tuscan Sun,” gorgeous hillside Cortona has a long history dating back even before its time as an important Etruscan center. Top attractions include the Duomo (Cathedral), the small Museo Diocesano across the piazza with its superb art collection, and the fascinating Museo dell'Accademia Etrusca with its assembly of Etruscan and Roman era items. Cortona is also bursting with splendid churches spanning many periods.

Azienda Agricola Baldetti Alfonso

The name BALDETTI is strongly linked to Tuscany and in particular to the territory of Cortona and the love for the land, handed down from generation to generation, has always been a firm point for the family. 2012 marked a fundamental year for the family, in fact the works for the creation of the new winery were completed, also in Localita Pietraia, strongly desired by Alfonso Baldetti and his two sons Daniele and Gian Luca, who in the meantime joined the 'Company thus creating the conditions for a rosy future full of satisfactions. The wines that are produced all have the same importance given the commitment and love that are put into each single grape, however it is normal that if we talk about Cortona, Syrah immediately comes to mind and it is precisely Cortona Doc Syrah Crano The company's flagship wine.

What a great experience to see where Leuta wines are made, how they are made and to meet Deni Zeni the owner in Italy. The taste of wine is most important, however, the story behind the wine, the creativity, the people, the vineyards and the cantina is also very important as well. Being at the Leuta winery was a great experience and one that we will not forget!

This is a great place to visit. We had a reservation for a tour and lunch. This place had a special feel. They were all so genuine and sincere and they enjoy their craft and sharing their story and journey. We felt like we were special vip guests. Their hospitality was exemplary. The grounds were very nice as is the facility. I enjoyed the tour! (I often get bored after years of winery production tours) These gentleman are great. We shipped wine home from them and it arrived as promised. This is a close knit small team that is making its mark and enjoying their journey. They share their wine and success in a well deserved pride filled way. We will be back! Ps...Thanks for the TShirt. (Sorry it took so long to post)

Cantine Faralli

Our company, located in the hills between cortona and montepulciano, extends for 60 ha, about 10 ha for the vineyard, 300 olive trees and the remainder dedicated to arable crops, (wheat, sunflowers and beer barley). In 2000 our cellar was renovated to improve and increase the family tradition that has been going on for 6 generations. After the success of our classic method, which rests 36 months on the lees, we are doing our best to get out as soon as possible with our km0 beer

We visited Cantine Faralli in July 2019, during a wine tasting tour. Andrea led the tour from the beautiful grapes growing on the hillside to the bottling and labeling. He was very knowledgeable and well spoken, guiding us through the wine making process. The wine tasting was the best I have ever experienced, paired with the best homemade Italian small plates!!! Cheese, meats, fruit, bread toasted fireside by Andrea....we truly felt like family???? Our bellies and hearts full, we ordered wine to be sent back to USA and THE BEST olive oil I have ever tasted. Since then I have ordered another case of olive oil and ordering more wine soon. An authentic Italian farm family experience!! A must do in beautiful Tuscany.

We visited from our hotel in Cortona and the venue were great in setting up our evening. We had a wine tour at 5pm followed by a brilliant tasting menu for dinner at Il Falcionere. The sommelier took our tour and then served our wine later that evening, by which time he knew our tastes! The setting was stunning, and food brilliant. It seemed like it was mostly hotel guests eating at the restaurant but I would certainly recommend others to book in if staying nearby.
