Top 10 Water & Amusement Parks in Zealand, Zealand

September 7, 2021 Lean Nau

Denmark's largest island is so much more than simply the home of the country's dynamic capital, Copenhagen. Zealand also offers a delightful array of holiday homes and villas, pleasing harbors and sandy beaches, fringed by forests where castles lurk. Major destinations include the UNESCO-designated, Dutch Renaissance-style Kronborg Castle in Helsingor and the Viking attractions, cathedral and music festival of Roskilde. To the south bobs a flotilla of beautiful and relatively untouched islands.

Tivoli Gardens

From mid-April to mid-September, a world-class amusement park comes to life in the center of Copenhagen. More than two dozen rides await you, in addition to live entertainment and more than 30 eateries.

Had a fantastic night at Tivoli with friends, 'Little Disney' was very well kept with beautiful gardens and water features. The rides were AMAZING, we went on The Golden Tower and The Star Flyer, also The Demon which was a super-fast thrill seeking roller coaster and Vertigo which is both scary and gets you in fits of giggles at the same time. A little dark at night along the paths etc but very different in a city centre, fully enjoyed our trip to Tivoli and would definitely go back.

Kalvehave Labyrintpark

Lots to do for all ages - not only labyrinths but also various games that keep the family entertained for hours. Both adults and teenagers in our family loved it. We did not have food in the park so paid DKK 100 per person, which seemed fair for several hours worth of entertainment. We had lots of fun trying the "fake views" which are trompe l'oeuil photo opportunities.

Bakken - World's Oldest Amusement Park

Reviewed By HerbertEdgewood - Orlando, United States

‘Ello chaps! Dyrehavsbakken aka “Bakken” is located in the Klampenborg area of Copenhagen, about a 10-20 minute train ride from Copenhagen Central Station. Bakken is considered to be the world’s oldest amusement park still in operation, opening in 1583, before growing into what it is known as today. It’s a neat little amusement park, something found off the beaten path, with several dozen rides and many restaurant and food options. The park is FREE to enter, although you pay for each attraction you want to ride. Like many areas in Copenhagen, they have special Christmas season attractions and decorations. Bakken is steeped in history, so if you’re showing up to the little park at the end of a neighborhood street you should know what your expectations are. Overall it was a great park to enjoy. I give Bakken five stars out of five stars.
