First tour after the lockdown, well prepared, a lot of interesting facts, visited all monasteries due to a very small group which was only me and the guide. Perfect places for pictures and definitely not crowded due to partly lockdown light. Guide was very nice, funny and knows the place very good. I really can recommend it

I went with my wife back in March of last year, during the low season and the early days of covid, and this was the highlight of our honeymoon. We took the two-day trip from Athens; one would not have been enough. We took both the sunset tour and the monastery tour; there were about half a dozen other tourists on the sunset tour, but the monastery tour the next day was just us and our tour guide from the night before, Vasilis. Vasilis was very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions we had, whether about the rock pillars, the many monasteries and their icons and frescos, Church history, anything. He was happy to help us take pictures as well, and was a good photographer. The train arrived in Kalampaka about an hour after the ticket said it would, but that seems to be normal in Greece. They picked us up from the station and dropped us off at the hotel we were staying at so we could get lunch before the Sunset Tour started. Grand Meteoron was going to be closed during both tours, so we took the opportunity to visit during this time. The hotel they set us up in, Hotel Kaikis, was nice and quiet, and when we woke up in the morning, we were given a good, large breakfast. I'm sure the morning hike would have been nice, but we do not at all regret taking the monastery tour. The monasteries and churches we visited are all beautiful, most were still active., and Vasilis told us a lot about them. The views were breathtaking. We encourage you to take this tour with this company.

I went together with my girlfriend to this place due to the nice reviews. The staff was very friendly with us but the experience was not nice. In the first room they have some 3D painting to take some pictures and they explain you a bit about what you see. The main attraction is the 9D cinema experience. The headphones were not very good and I could barely hear the voice. Most of the time I could only hear the compressed air for the special effects. At some point we could see double image and made us very dizzy. I am a tall person also and as the seat was moving I could touch the floor and it was a bit disappointing. The graphics were also a bit hilarious. Maybe for children this is a nice experience but for young/adult people it is not.

At the foothills of mount Lykaion lay the springs of a beautiful "female" river called Neda. According to Greek mythology Neda was a nymph, a goddess of water and she was one of those who nourished Zeus. The gorge of river Neda is a natural wonder of the Messinian countryside. The constantly varying landscape, the lush, the turquoise waters and the majestic cliffs, make the crossing of this gorge an unforgettable experience.

A great 6-day-kayaking-tour. We had good and bad weather, however, the guides George, Ana and Norbert always found a perfect alternative, like pool-training for wet exit, eskimo roll, etc or an alternative tour. All guides had been very supportive in every way and never-ending-patience with the pool-training. All of us could improve our kayaking skills a tremendous lot. George has a lot of stories (including history) to tell. We were spoiled with picknicks on remote beaches and a choice of excellent accomodation. But most important - we had a lot of fun in that week. A real highlight. I will definitely go back for more paddling next year with Explore Messinia.
