I thoroughly enjoyed the cooking classes I had with Robin. They were a lockdown birthday present from my Husband. Fantastic gift idea! Robin was very kind, pleasant, and extremely flexible! I am pregnant and cannot stay on my feet for very long. Robin was kind enough to split the cooking class in two separate lessons. The food was excellent and my husband and I had a lot of fun learning about Lebanon and the country's culinary delights! I highly recommend this experience!

A friend invited us over to celebrate his birthday in Beirut. We did, but, importantly, he also organised a tour of Lebanon’s historic sites including many quarters of Beirut. George made this all possible. He is an excellant guide, the best we ever had. He knows everything, about history, archeology, today’s political situation, etc. Very difficult to ask a question he doesn’t know the answer to. He explains everything in so much detail and passion for his country, and, not only occasionally, humour. He also took us to wonderful places to eat on the way, getting us in touch with local flavours. We also did the “Sunday walk”. Strongly recommended ! Many thanks again, George. C+C

7. One Hour Self-guided Audio Tour of the Green Line by VoiceMap

Samir Kassir square and statue, Al Marfa'a, Beirut, Lebanon VoiceMap Beirut

This tour follows an itinerary that for 15 years, while the civil war raged in Lebanon, was impossible to do. For 15 years, Beirut was a divided city. One half was Christian and the other was Muslim. There were few crossings between the two sides and many were under the control of snipers. This walk resurrects the story of the war and the areas most affected by it in Beirut. Beirut is over 5000 years old so anywhere you dig, you will find something historically significant. Along this route you will get an idea of what the city was like a hundred years ago while seeing the damage caused by the civil war. You will also get to know some historical and not so historical landmarks, such as Martyr's Square, the Egg, Beit Beirut and Falafel Sahyoun. The tour is ready whenever you are and the audio plays automatically at exactly the right time and place using your smartphone's GPS and the VoiceMap mobile app, which also works offline.

Inclusions: Lifetime access to Walk the Green Line tour, VoiceMap Application, Offline access to audio, maps, and geodata

Exclusions: Smartphone, Transportation, Food/Drink, Tickets or entrance fees to any museums or other attractions en route

8. Tripoli City Tour

Beirut, Lebanon Zingy Ride

Day at Tripoli the largest city in northern Lebanon and the second – largest city in the country. Situated 85 kilometers (53 miles) north of the capital Beirut. Even though the history of Tripoli dates back at least to the 14th century BCE, the city is famous for having the largest Crusader fortress in Lebanon (the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles), and it has the second largest amount of Mamluk architectural heritage on earth (behind Cairo). Explore Mseilha Fort a fortification situated north of the city of Batroun in Lebanon. The current fort was built by Emir Fakhreddine II in the 17th century to guard the route from Tripoli to Beirut. The fort is built on a long, narrow limestone rock near the Nahr el-Jawz River. Its walls are constructed with small sandstone blocks quarried from the nearby coast and built onto the edge of the limestone rock

We just finished our week-long tour with Lebanon Expedition - so far it has been the best tour company I have ever travelled with. From the beginning, they were willing to hear all of our requests and accomodate, especially since we were travelling with our 8-month-old daughter and were a little worried about that. We had an amazing tour guide Mark, who picked and dropped us from the airport and hotel (even though during arrival our flight was an hour delayed, but he didn't appear fussed about it whatsoever - unlike my experiences with some previous tour guides and companies who get agitated over matters not in the hands of people). Mark would pick us up from our hotel every morning and be well aware of our schedule and plan for the day and as per our own request we would be back at the hotel by late afternoon. He was a very safe driver and the car itself was very comfortable, and it was always fun to talk with him and also hear out his explanations of all the places and sites we would visit. All entrance fees were covered in our price, and the only additional expense we really had to cover was our lunch/dinner. Although Lebanon Expedition were even kind enough to offer us a complementary lunch at one of the villages where a Lebaneese family makes home-cooked fresh bread called manoush. We visisted many places over the week: Balbak, Anjar, Cedars, Ehden, Qadisha Valley, Norieh, Tannourine, Akoura, Jbeil, Jounieh and of course Beirut. If you are planning on visiting Lebanon and need a tour guide with you, this is definetly the company to go with and you can customize your tour as you wish and seek their advise on it as well.
