Stunning spot at Kennedys Beach Villa

Reviewed By Escape07134169631

The location and view for this spot was excellent and being pet friendly makes it a unique getaway for the weekend. Service from James was most attentive....almost too much so. We would like to recommend 2 suggestions, namely that a breakfast deal with Milk on the Beach, be included in the package and that an alternative to paying the balance in cash be found. Carrying cash is a huge risk.

Beautiful B&B accommodation

Anton is terrific and his B&B is very homely. Breakfast was especially good and helpfully pointed us in the direction of a good restaurant in the evening. My only criticism was that the shower wasn't amazing but apart from that all good.

Paul Wallace Wines and Guest Cottages

Paul and Nicky Wallace purchased their 25 hectare farm in September 2003 and immediately set out to create their own little piece of heaven. The two labourer's cottages, converted to self-catering accommodation, are perfect for a getaway to the country. Surrounded by vineyards, natural dams with abundant bird life and unparalleled sunsets, this is a little piece of paradise. Each cottage has a well equipped kitchenette, with a microwave, four plate stove top, fridge/freezer and other necessary amenities. The living area is open plan with the kitchenette and has a fireplace to keep things cosy in the cold, along with a TV with full DSTV. The two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a king (which can be made up as two single beds), come with wall heaters and electric blankets and are separated by a shared bathroom with toilet, basin and shower. Firewood, charcoal and firelighters are provided for both the inside fireplace and the braai outside.

A lovely stay

Reviewed By acrowl788992

The cottages are in a wonderfully scenic location with lovely views over the surrounding vineyards. It's beautifully quiet too, making for a great night's sleep. There are three dogs that have the roam of the vineyard who are extremely friendly and accompanied us as we explored the vineyard and lakes. The cottage had everything we needed and the bed was big and comfy. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it seemed to have everything required for self catering. We had a wonderful stay and it was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday.

De Kelders Private Retreat and Eatery

Revamped in 2019. The house is neither a B&B or a guest house. It is a villa and a haven for the discerning traveller, who understands quality, stillness and privacy. Acclaimed by ELLE Deco, House&Leisure, House&Garden and Gourmet, the villa offers the luxury of privacy. Three bedrooms with fireplaces, a 130m lounge with a library of magazines, books, music and films. Large fireplace for the winter nights. Private garden with secluded, solar heated saltwater pool. The 50m open terrace with beautiful views of the village and Walker Bay is secluded and offers the perfect hideaway for reading. The ocean is 200 steps away. Our breakfasts are special and our pre-booked homecooked regional dinners are legendary. The owner is the author of cookbooks. The retreat is an Instagram haven. The house is not branded, hence the name private house. The villa can be rented for exclusive use. In October 2019, the luxurious penthouse and superior suite with incredible sea views will be operational.

From the moment we walked and were welcomed to DK Private Villa, it felt like entering paradise. Received a warm welcome from our host and chef Neil. With the modern touch of the interior to the music playlist just sets the mood for the mouth-watering 4 course meal to play itself. The decor flows from one end to the next and is awe-inspiring indicative with a modern zest that leaves you breathless for the views. When it comes to the meals, this is where my culinary experience started. Started off with artisan bread freshly and homely baked with the aromas that you just want to follow, to the butternut soup that just washes down perfectly with the bread. 2nd course was an array of a cabbage salad and cheese, enjoyed every hand picked piece. Moved onto the 3rd course as the music allowed us to and Neil being attentive, we started with the Lamb Fillet and baked potatoes. To end off we had a mixture of berry sorbet that tantalize the tastebuds bringing everything together. Thank you Neil!
