Rottnest Island Visitor Centre is located in Thomson Bay near the main jetty. Ask the helpful and friendly staff for maps and information about attractions, tours, bus services, bike hire and mooring rentals. If you are staying in Rottnest Island Authority accommodation you can check in at the Visitor Centre from 2pm daily. Please phone for opening hours and other helpful information.
The visitor center has all the souvenirs and super friendly staff. The island it’s self is absolutely amazing would recommend the hop on hop off bus services to get from spot to spot as they run every 15min and there is plenty of knowledge shared by the driver along the way. Driving is amazing and not over crowded, wouldn’t recommend riding bikes if you want to see the whole island with the family as you would need to all be fairly fit as it get quite hot. Take plenty of water as fill stations and stores are limited.

It’s an interesting building from the outside, centrally located and easy to get to. The interior is just as pleasing. Spacious, airy, light filled and inviting. I often visit to read the wide variety of papers and exchange library books. I wander in intent on a quick visit and a couple of hours later reluctantly leave. A great range of books, magazines and papers located over several floors. I won’t go into detail on what’s available as you can get that from the website- but staff are very helpful. The ground floor coffee shop is good too.

This visitors centre is over and above any we have been in touch with in this state These girls are awesome What can I say ... second time we have been there and they are an asset to their region. So much time was taken to help us and as a result my sister and I had the best time. I can’t remember the lady’s name but she will know ... we thank you Highly recommend calling in there before you head into the valley ????
