The catamaran was spotless and very comfortable. There was plenty of space despite there being 10 of us that day. The swimming spots were wonderful! No snorkel gear but we brought goggles so it didn't really matter. Lunch was very tasty and the staff were incredibly warm and helpful. I have been on trips like this all over the world and this was one of the best!

We literally had a dream week with Sailing Blue and Periklis Gkikas with an almost brand new Lagoon 450F catamaran from August 1 to 7, 2020 departing and returning to Milos, Greece. When you go with small children and people who have little sailing experience and have few days of holidays each year, you really have to find the right person, the one who will make sure you are constantly sailing safe and who will do everything to make your week as enjoyable as possible. However, given the multitude of yacht charter offers with a skipper, it is a bit of a lottery to find the right person. For my part, I met Periklis Gkikas at the 2019 boat show in Paris. From the start, I appreciated his seriousness and professionalism. Unlike others, he was very clear on what we could do in 1 week from Milos and offered us several options (departure port, routes, etc.). He didn't try to "oversell" what might happen during our stay. We were even able to discuss together the possible thorny points of a stay in August, namely the meltem (north wind) which can blow very strongly in August and also the question of mooring in the port which can be complicated due to the crowds in August (which was not really the case this last summer because of the travel restrictions due to the covid19 pandemic). During the 1st lockdown, we stayed in contact with Periklis and he kept us constantly informed of the modalities for entering Greece during the pandemic. On the 1st day, Periklis was early so we could join him earlier on the catamaran at the port of Milos. The refueling done, we were able to leave for a dream week where Periklis was able, every day of the week, to maximize between our desires to visit such and such a place or to stop to swim and enjoy the sea, the weather of the day and the time available to us. In addition, we did not have to do any wild mooring because Periklis found us a safe place in a port every evening. Very important also, Periklis did not stop worrying about our comfort throughout the week and therefore made an effort to steer the catamaran with calm and discernment, avoiding the constant changes of course and tackings unnecessary. This is extremely enjoyable, especially for people with little sailing experience on board, for children. At no time during the week did we feel at risk. Safety, comfort on board and seriousness are the fundamental and real values of Sailing Blue and Periklis Gkikas. Our week of catamaran in the Cyclades has been idyllic and we look forward to leaving with Sailing Blue and Periklis to continue to visit Greece, this magnificent destination which we fell in love with.

My son, daughter-in-law and I had booked a 14-day private tour of Athens, Crete, Santorini, Milos and Naxos with Private Tours Greece from May 1-14, 2020 and made a 30% down payment by credit card on 02/06/2020. All interactions with Private Tours Greece went smoothly and were professional and friendly. Then, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and my son's illness, on 03/13/2020, well ahead of the deadline for a fully-refundable cancellation, I asked Private Tours Greece to release all reservations it had made on our behalf, but to hold my deposit, in the hope that we might be able to reschedule our trip later in 2020 or in the spring of 2021. Private Tours Greece complied with my request and issued a credit voucher for the down payment I had made. As the pandemic continued to surge and Greece remained closed to visitors from the United States, on 4/17/2021, after essentially extending an interest-free loan to Private Tours Greece for over a year, I requested that my down payment be fully refunded and credited to the same credit card account to which it had been charged. Thereupon, Private Tours Greece staff claimed that the request for refund had been "forwarded" ... as it turned out later, to Alpha Bank. Nothing happened for a week. I then engaged in repeated e-mail exchanges with Private Tours Greece staff, only to be subjected to a stream of equivocations, obfuscations of the facts, and invalid excuses, including a claim that Private Tours Greece was doing me a favor by agreeing to a refund because the Greek government had allegedly given it the option to hold my funds indefinitely. I then contacted the general manager of the company, who sent me what purported to be a Greek language request to Alpha Bank (that I was unable to read) to issue the refund, along with further invalid excuses, never responding to my complaint that Private Tours Greece was in breach of its contractual obligation to issue a full refund of my down payment, not to mention doing the honorable thing, i.e., issue an immediate refund from an account he controlled directly, rather than blaming Alpha Bank for the delay by claiming that it "required" 10-15 "working" days to complete the request. Even that outlandishly ridiculous period has now expired! A complaint I submitted to Alpha Bank has received no response to date. It has now been nearly a full month since my refund request of 4/17/2021, and I may have to initiate legal action against Private Tours Greece ... with all the complexities and additional outlays and delays that would involve ... in order to reclaim my funds. The lesson to be learned here is that Private Tours Greece cannot be counted upon to honor its promises and contractual commitments. If there is any chance at all that you may have to cancel your trip, STAY AWAY!
