This tour was by far the best experience I have had yet on Trip Advisor! Andres was extremely friendly, passionate and scholarly. He was easy to talk to about anything! All the information he gave us was very interesting and educational. I personally don’t even like coffee, and I still really enjoyed this tour. My boyfriend loves coffee and loved the tour as well. Andres took us through the entire process of making coffee from planting the seed to the different methods of extracting. It was amazing how many flavors you can achieve from the different extraction methods. He took pictures of us along the way so that we could focus on enjoying the experience. The local family he works with were very hospitable and offered us drinks and food along the way. I could not have asked for anything more on this tour. 5+++

Santa fe de Antioquia or the ” mother city” is located at only one and a half hours ride through the scenic mountains landscapes of the western Andes Highlands from Medellin. The mother city was founded in 1541 on the western bank of the cauca rivera. It became the first capital of Antioquia. The clock stand still at 1826 , the year the government move to Medellin. Its colonial center remains intact, and today it looks very much like it did in the 18 and 19 century. The narrow streets are lined with white washed houses, many arranged around beautiful courtyards, and elaborately carved woodwork around the windows and doorways. It makes a great day trip away from Medellin. You can also taste the variety of fruits from the surrounding valley.

The tour guides are so knowledgeable and friendly and the itineraries are well planned and executed while still allowing flexibility for the guests. We like them so much, we’ve used the company on four occasions when friends and family have visited us in Medellin; twice for tours of Comuna 13 and the Medellín cable car system and twice for Cruise and Climb El Penol and Guatape. Definitely recommend and will tour with them again for sure.

A private tour is the best way to see Guatape. You travel at your own pace. A private tour was especially appropriate because of the current state of Covid. Our guide Hector was amazing. While he spoke English I got to practice my Spanish with him. The town of Guatape is beautiful and serene. And lunch, OMG was muy rico! I will be back for sure for a longer visit as there is so much to see and so much shopping:0 And, of course we made it to the top of El Penol! What a vista! You cannot beat that. I am ready to move there!
