Top 10 Tours in Sanremo, Liguria

November 18, 2021 Frederic Celentano

With a comfortable climate that varies little throughout the year, Sanremo has been a favored tourist destination since the mid-1700s, attracting visitors from all over Europe, including heavy contingents of Russian and British aristocracy. For many, the long stretch of beach is the main attraction, but don’t miss the impressive casino or the hillside medieval section of town called La Pigna. Every year since 1951, the city has hosted Italy’s popular Sanremo Music Festival.

Wonderful welcoming experience from start to finish. Way surpassed my expectations. Nino was incredibly kind and professional and created a great all round experience. Not only did I enjoy the cooking & eating! but the fabulous tour of Sanremo and the food market by moped. It was a very genuine experience of the area not one you would usually get to have as a tourist. A must for anyone visiting the area

Dive into the Mediterranean way of life and discover some of the gems on the French and Italian rivieras. In this 8-hour private customized tour visit an Italian weekly open-air market in Ventimiglia or San Remo (Tuesday, Friday and Saturday) and feel the very particular atmosphere in Italy. Drive then back to France for a lunch or snack in Menton. Well protected from the northern winds, this town is supposed to be the warmest resort of France. Its mild climate is particularly suited to orange, mandarine and lemon trees and citrus groves are surrounding the terrains of Menton. Walk through the charming pedestrian area and try a delicious Limoncello. During the Carnival period in February, Menton becomes centre of a series of over the top activities as for example the very famous Citrus fair. Admire the glamorous sights of Monaco as there are the Cathedral and the Prince's Palace in Old Monaco and the very famous Casino in Monte Carlo. Hotel pickup and drop-off in Nice is included.

This review is long overdue. But when a friend asked me what they should do while in France I had to recommend this day trip with Yvonne. Yvonne tailor made our day so that my husband and I were able to see the things most important to us. Her knowledge of the area is truly wonderful. We were able to visit little villages, talk to the shop owners, taste incredible food and see sights we would not have explored on our own. Of course her Mercedes was very clean and comfortable. Yvonne is a warm and friendly host. The day spent with her as our guide was the highlight of our trip to France.

It made a bad impression on me that when we arrived at the Rass winery we were greeted with the finding that they had already closed for tourists today, but as a compromise they would take the trouble to open for us.
