I highly recommend booking a jeep safari with Kalum. His response to my enquiry was very quick and comprehensive and his price was very competitive for a quality service. He provided 2 jeeps for 7 of us and we all had a wonderful afternoon at Minneriya, seeing over 100 elephants, including the 2-month old twins with their protective mother, yet still maintaining a respectful distance from the animals at all times. Most of the time we were the only 2 jeeps around and never saw more than 4-5 others at any time. Go now, you’ll love it and give Kalum a call to arrange it for you.

The fundamentals all went as planned and required ....But..... The vehicle was shabby, with bits of the foam protectors falling off and the matting being of no use at all. The seats were dirty (I can live with that) and there was nowhere to put a bottle of water (other vehicles had this as I checked) The driver come guide spoke no English at all....so there was no 'guiding'. I was travelling solo and should have tried to hook into another tour as it was not as much fun just being in the back of an old truck on my own. There are Government Guides (I found out afterwards) who could have accompanied me but of course....No English meant this was not explained. Lastly, when I arrived .....someone at their Head Office advised me (through my driver) that I had to pay more Money. This was never going to happen as I already knew that the Park entrance Fee had to be paid additionally to what I had already paid. Suffice to say that this just aggravated me but it was resolved (I did NOT pay anymore and I still tipped the driver) The Safari itself was good but this provider was definitely lacking! My suggestion would be to discuss this with your Hotel as there are literally .....Hundreds of Operators to choose from.

Wilpattu National Park the largest wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka span an area of no less than 131,693 hectares with altitude ranging between the sea-level and 152 meters. It is situated in the dry zone, and is unlike any other wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu sanctuary was declared as a National Park in 1938, Wilpattu National Park is located on the west coast close to the historical city of Anuradhapura .The dry zone jungle is thickly grown. Great service - incredibly flexible and made you feel safe and secure during these trying times We originally reached out to Arun to help plan a 12 day custom itinerary - he was super responsive and accomodating but also suggested new ideas I didn’t think of or pushed back if my list of items was too much for short period. Unfortunately, due to the rise in cases, we need to cut our trip last minute. He really helped take care of us when we went from a 12 day to 4 day including scheduling pcr tests, scrambling to find a safe and secure hotel and even coming into the office on Sunday to sort it out as we didn’t have WiFi at camp Ravi, our guide/driver is very personable and loves to share his love for Sri Lanka with you. Open to all questions about life, culture and history - he made an otherwise boring 2 hour transfer feel like part of our trip! He also was super accommodating with our changing plans as we were hesitant to do some items with the rapidly changing COVID situation. He went above and beyond to answe our questions, and schedule a Buddhist lecture and meditation session Thank you both for taking care of us these last few days ! Highly recommend!

This is another park famous for Asian Wild Elephants. It is also a sanctuary for both endemic and migratory birds. Historically, kaudulla was one of the 16 irrigation tanks built by king mahasen. The best time to spot elephants in this park is from august to December, as they start migrating from Minneriya National park to Kaudulla during this period. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the endangered rusty spotted cat trying his luck at fishing for its supper. We provide light refreshments and water bottles during the safari. 18:00 - On completion of the game drive, you will be driven to your hotel.
