We booked a tour with John on line the night before our tour. This was late in September. He met us at 2:00 and was friendly and knowledgeable about his city. This was the last day of his touring for the season and though there were only 2 of us, he led us on an excellent tour, pointing out great restaurants and specialty shops along the way. He also took us to wonderful photography sites which we wouldn't have found on our own. John would love to also lead food tours in La Rochelle.

Not far from train station. A place that has developed over time and is eclectic now with plants carts boats grasses trees, snakes, lizards and dinosaurs. Can spend 3 hours there. Now cost not so good so check if you go. Can get family ticket. Interesting shop and useful cafe. 15 minutes walk to front of Royan and it's beaches.

We decided to visit and learn about Cognac during a visit to Bordeaux. We enjoyed the master class very much, the course content was well planned and kept us interested during the whole time there. It was also nice ti taste the product from a small local distillery which we most likely not find abroad. We definitely recommend taking the course.
